What I Carry With Me

Song Tekst

I used to chase every sunrise,
running fast but losing time.
Saying things I never meant right,
leaving good days left behind.
But the road taught me a lesson,
when I stumbled to my knees—
you don’t need to walk in shadows
to find the truth you need.

Now I move a little slower,
but my heart beats clean and free.
I’m learning how to listen
to the things I used to leave.
I don’t need a perfect future,
just a place I want to be—
and love is still the brightest
thing I carry with me.

I missed chances in the silence,
words that never found their way.
But I’m stronger in the quiet
than I ever was in rage.
I’m not waiting for a miracle,
I’m just walking honestly—
every step a small reminder
of the man I want to be.

Now I move a little slower,
but my heart beats clean and free.
I’m learning how to listen
to the things I used to leave.
I don’t need a perfect future,
just a place I want to be—
and love is still the brightest
thing I carry with me.

If I fall again tomorrow,
I’ll rise with steady hands.
Life ain’t built on flawless moments—
it’s the ones you understand.

So I move a little slower,
but my soul feels wild and free.
I’m holding onto kindness
like it’s part of destiny.
I don’t need a perfect ending,
just a truth that lets me breathe—
and love is still the brightest
thing I carry with me.

Inspiratie

He used to live fast—always chasing the next job, the next love, the next chance. But life caught up with him the day his legs stopped listening. A sudden illness forced him into stillness, into long days where even standing felt like climbing a mountain.

At first he fought it. He cursed the missed opportunities, the broken conversations, the people he had pushed away because he never slowed down long enough to understand them.

But recovery has a strange way of teaching patience. In the quiet hours of therapy, he learned to listen. In the slow steps across the rehab room, he learned to breathe. And in the long silences with the woman who stayed by his side—despite all the miscommunication—he learned what love sounds like when it isn’t rushed.

He began to rebuild his life step by step. He set small goals: stand today, walk tomorrow, dream next week. And with every step, he realized he didn’t want his old life back. He wanted a better one.

Now he walks again—not fast, not perfect, but with purpose. He’s grateful for the roof above him, the hands that helped him up, the chances he still has. He knows he’ll fall again someday. But he also knows he’ll rise. Because the strongest people aren’t the ones who never fall— they’re the ones who learn to walk again.
